Product Information
Daliresp (roflumilast) reduces inflammation in the lungs that leads to COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease).
Daliresp (roflumilast) is used to prevent worsening of symptoms in people with severe COPD.
Daliresp (roflumilast) is not a bronchodilator and will not treat a bronchospasm attack that has already begun.
Daliresp (roflumilast) may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.

Follow all directions on your prescription label and read all medication guides or instruction sheets. Use exactly as directed by your healthcare provider. You may take Daliresp (roflumilast) with or without food. Swallow the tablet with some water. Take the tablet at the same time every day.
- For the first 28 days – the recommended starting dose is one 250 micrograms tablet once daily. – The starting dose is a low dose used to help your body get used to the medicine before you start taking the full dose. At this low dose you will not get the full effect from the medicine – therefore it is important that you move on to the full dose (called a ‘maintenance dose’) after 28 days.
- After 28 days – the recommended maintenance dose is one 500 micrograms tablet once daily
Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose. If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember it and then take the next dose at the right time. Store at room temperature away from moisture, heat, and light.
You should not use Daliresp (roflumilast) if you are allergic to it, or if you have moderate or severe liver disease.
Daliresp contains lactose. If you have been told by your doctor that you have an intolerance to some sugars, contact your doctor before taking this medicinal product.
Tell your doctor if you have ever had:
- liver disease; or
- depression, mental illness, or suicidal thoughts or actions
You should not breast-feed while using Daliresp (roflumilast).
Do not give this medicine to a child without medical advice.
Follow your doctor’s instructions about any restrictions on food, beverages, or activity.
Some people have thoughts about while taking Daliresp (roflumilast). Your doctor should check your progress at regular visits. Your family or other caregivers should also be alert to changes in your mood or symptoms.
Before you take Daliresp, tell your healthcare provider if you:
- have or have had a history of mental illness, including depression and suicidal behaviour;
- have liver problems;
- have any other medical conditions;
- are pregnant or plan to become pregnant; or
- are breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed..
It is not known whether Daliresp (roflumilast) will harm an unborn baby.
Get emergency medical help if you have signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficult breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue or severe skin reaction–fever, sore throat.
Report any new or worsening symptoms to your doctor, such as: mood or behavior changes, anxiety, depression, trouble sleeping, or if you feel impulsive, or you have thoughts about suicide or hurting yourself.
Call your doctor at once if you have:
- rapid and unintended weight loss;
- tremors;
- pain or burning when you urinate;
The most common side effects of DALIRESP include
- diarrhea
- nausea
- stomach ache
- headache
- back pain
- flu-like symptoms
- problems sleeping (insomnia)
- dizziness
- decreased appetite

Roflumilast may affect the way other medicines work, and other medicines may affect how Roflumilast works.
